The Cunning Folk Film Club starts a programme of monthly screenings in the ballroom of the Balham Bowls Club on Thursday 6th February.
The first Cunning Folk Film Club of 2020 is a screening of Requiem For A Village, directed by David Gladwell. It premiered in the 1975 London Film Festival.
It was described at the time thus: ‘Requiem for a Village is one of that handful of works that prove that the English poetic genius is fully capable of expressing itself in cinema.’
This film carries an 18 certificate & is 65 minutes long.
This screening will be in the ballroom of the Balham Bowls Club at 8pm on Thursday 6th February. Doors 7.30. Admission costs £5. This is an informal cinema where drinking & eating are not a problem, however while the screening is taking place we respectfully ask for no phones or prolonged conversation.
