The South East London Folklore Society is a monthly pub meeting held on the second Thursday of every month in the upstairs room of The Old King’s Head 47-49 Borough High Street SE1 at 8pm.

Who Was Peter Bellamy?
Whether as a solo performer or in ‘The Young Tradition’, as composer of ‘The Transports’, adaptations of Kipling’s poems to the English folk vernacular, the influence of Peter Bellamy on English folk music is still felt today. This presentation will provide an education for the newcomer, & an opportunity for the familiar to listen again to recordings of a truly unique folk voice.
There will be playback of recordings of Peter Bellamy’s singing & some video too.
This event is held in the upstairs room of the Old King’s Head & will commence at 8pm
